What you should be aware of

  1. The first Chromebook to run on Intel's Core Ultra 7 CPU has been revealed by ASUS.
  2. Doubling the competition's performance is the promise of the ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus.
  3. In addition to having a 14-inch touchscreen, it can connect to three 4K external monitors.

It turns out that we can find out what new Chromebooks will be available in 2024 without having to wait for CES. With ASUS's announcement of the ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus, it appears like HP is finally facing some competition at the high end of the market.

The announcement of the new Intel Core Ultra CPU series, which promises a "no-compromise premium mobile experience," coincided with the release of this new Chromebook. ASUS plans to release the CX54 Chromebook Plus with up to four distinct CPU configurations, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD.

The most recent ChromeOS features and AI-powered improvements are also included in the ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus. This includes having access to the web version of Photoshop, utilizing Magic Eraser in Google Photos, and having higher-quality video calls.

Regarding the screen, ASUS uses a 14-inch touchscreen panel with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 that is optional. The fact that ASUS says this screen can hit 500 nits is what excites us about it. Although it is still not as bright as the HP Dragonfly Pro Chromebook, which can reach 1,200 nits, it is still far brighter than many other Chromebook Plus models.

As expected from ASUS' ExpertBook series, the design satisfies US MIL-STD 810H requirements and is constructed from a "all-metal chassis that's crafted from recycled aluminum." Because it weighs little less than 3 pounds (1.3 kg/2.87 lbs), this is comparable to one of the more expensive Chromebooks without the need to bring a tank. Last but not least, the Expertbook CX54 Chromebook Plus includes every port a Chromebook might ever need.

This has two Thunderbolt 4 connections, two USB-A connectors, one full-size HDMI 2.1 port, and a microSD card slot. However, ASUS claims that you won't need to rely on a docking station because you can attach up to three 4K monitors to this Chromebook simultaneously. Regretfully, ASUS did not disclose the ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus's price or availability. Additionally, we hope that this won't be restricted to the Enterprise market. AMAZON
